Craniosacral Therapy Around Death and Dying (CADD)

Developed by Don Ash PT. CSD.

This is a four day workshop about life.

The biological process of life includes the process of coming and going. This workshop will explore the feelings and emotions around the going; for the practitioner, the patient and the survivor. This is a craniosacral therapy training in the use of somato-emotional release and dialogue to fascilitate the process of transition known as death.

Topics included in the workshop:

  • What does death mean to you?
  • Definitions of death and transition
  • Ego and physical identity
  • Techniques to assist the active dying process
  • Viewing the dying process from the point of view of the therapist, the patient, and the survivor
  • Strategies for assisting the dying patient and those who have experienced loss.
  • CST/SER techniques for patients experiencing the death process

The student of this workshop will learn:

Clinical Applications of CST in the dying process
*  How to apply AND (Assisted Natural Death) and Hospice strategies
*  How we use CST with the dying patient
*  How we can treat patients who are suffering or in pain over loss of someone who has died
*  How to work with those suffering “little deaths” as in divorce, job loss, death of a pet
*  How the therapist holds space for the awareness of death for the patient while still being grounded, present, and confident themselves

This class is an experiencial workshop using CSR listening, touch and dialoque techniques based on the Upledger model of craniosacral therapy.

Prerequisites: SER1
